2017-18 Season Spotlight: Fall Head Over Heels for LOVE LETTERS


January 12-21, 2018

In January 2018, come and enjoy the touching and emotionally charged play, Love Letters. Written by A. R. Gurney in 1988, this play is a favorite of actors and audiences alike. The story itself is based off of decades of letters exchanged between childhood sweethearts, Andrew Makepeace Ladd III and Melissa Gardner, as they experience life in their own remarkably different ways, yet still retain their connection through writing.

NC Theatre Announces Volunteer of the Year

On April 24, 2017 North Carolina Theatre held its annual Volunteer Appreciation event. This year’s event took place at Sitti in downtown Raleigh. In addition to honoring all of our wonderful volunteers we also take this opportunity to recognize our Volunteer of the Year. This year we honor Dr. Joanne Fruth
Dr. Fruth is a dedicated and passionate member of our NC Theatre volunteer community. She serves our community at a greater level by working as a board approved Family Physician at Avance Care. 

2017-18 Season Spotlight: Let GYPSY Entertain You!


November 14-19, 2017


This November, North Carolina Theatre will open the 2017-18 Season with the NC Theatre premiere of GYPSY, a 1959 musical by Jule Styne and Stephen Sondheim, based off of the memoirs of the notorious burlesque dancer, Gypsy Rose Lee.

Kathy Norris has been a dedicated volunteer with the North Carolina Theatre for six years. From painting sets to running our cast dinner, she's done it all. In honor of MATILDA THE MUSICAL coming to the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts in downtown Raleigh, May 23-28, we’re holding an online costume contest.
