Overview:
The College Preparatory program is an advanced musical theatre program available for selected students entering 10th grade and above. The program will provide participating students preparation for entrance into the top bachelor of fine arts (BFA) theatre programs in the country. Upon completion of each year of the program, students will perform a showcase of their talents in front of representatives from BFA theatre and musical theatre programs with national reputations. The students will receive valuable feedback from these professionals that will guide them to completion of classes and training in the final semesters before their actual college auditions.

Program:
Each year, students must complete the following curriculum requirements. Student must enroll on a yearly basis. For electives, the one class will be taken each semester. All electives must be completed by the end of the program. Advancement to a higher class, including company membership is by audition or instructor discretion only.

• You will participate in half-day audition prep seminars each spring/summer for each spring semester you are enrolled, and will participate in the showcase for professors each fall you are enrolled.

• Enrollment in the following classes is required for the entire year, each year (a $1400-1775 value): Jazz, Musical Theatre Repertory, a 15 class dance card, or Dance Company Ballet Acting class or Acting Company Live on Stage class or Company

• You may take one elective class as part of your fee. This must be a technique class in any subject. (a $350 value) Any other electives or higher level dance card taken will be an extra charge with no discount. Class titles subject to change. Electives may include:
  • Sight singing
  • Musical theatre ensemble
  • Audition
  • Diction and dialects
  • Tap 1 and II
  • Film study for the Actor
  • Shakespeare: From Page to Stage
  • Music Theory
  • Basic Piano
  • Turns and Jumps

Program Fee and Acceptance:
Fee is $3000 per year. $1000 deposit is required, unless signing up for spring semester to start. The remainder can be paid in two $1000 payments.

($1750-$2125 would be the price for the classes separately per semester) Family discounts, Teacher assistant discounts, and Theatre 4 Change discounts do not apply. All students must fill out an application for admission, which includes a short essay describing why you wish to be a part of the Advanced Conservatory program and a list of the classes you may have taken that fit the requirements included in the curriculum. Admission into the program will be determined by the Conservatory instructors. Students may be asked to audition for placement after acceptance.
