The NCT Capital Awards is a program designed to recognize outstanding high school musical productions and performances.

The 2010 Capital Awards were held on May 24 at 7:00 pm at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium at the Progress Energy Center in downtown Raleigh.

North Carolina Theatre is pleased to announce that on June 29, 2009, we joined 15 other professional theater organizations from 11 states participating in the first annual presentation of The Jimmy Awards, to be held in New York City on at the Skirball Center for the Performing Arts, New York University. The recipients of Outstanding Leading Actor, Seth Johnson, and Outstanding Leading Actress, Rebecca Brinkley, were flown to NYC to participate.   Capital Bank has agreed to underwrite a limited number of Capital Awards tickets, on a first-come/first-served basis.
Call (919) 831-6941 x6943 to reserve up to 20 free tickets for your school.
Capital Bank will also make a donation (up to $240) to the Arts Education Department of the first 12 schools to reserve 20 tickets.
All 20 tickets must be used in order to receive the Capital Bank donation.
In addition, all schools can request any number of $12 tickets to the Capital Awards, and keep $2 of every ticket sold.

CELEBRATE the work of aspiring young performers in the community.
ELEVATE the importance of performing arts education in community high schools.
PERPETUATE the community’s support and passion for the performing arts.

The 2010 Capital Awards will be held on May 24, 2010 at 7:00 pm at Raleigh Memorial Auditorium at the Progress Energy Center in downtown Raleigh.

We are proud to welcome our participating schools to the 2010 Capital Awards Ceremony. This year’s program include students from public and private schools from Wake County, Chapel Hill, Chatham and Harnett Counties. Please watch our website for more information about this year’s program.
