Who's Who at NCT

De Ann S. Jones: Founder
DeAnn, Founder of The North Carolina Theatre, has played an important role in the education of children in the performing arts with the conception of NCT's Kids on Broadway program. She has been honored with the Raleigh Medal of Arts for Extraordinary Achievement in the Arts.

William Jones: Executive Director/Producer
William W. Jones, Executive Director/Producer, has been with NCT for over 20 years and oversees all production aspects on the main stage, Kids on Broadway education initiative and overall operational aspects of the Theatre. It was his creative vision that brought the critically acclaimed production of The Sound of Music starring the Von Trapp children and Lou Diamond Phillips in the reprisal of his Tony-nominated role in The King and I to Raleigh. He has shown a consistent ability to balance the roles of artist and business manager while raising the national profile of NCT and renewing a focus on youth education, performance and outreach.

Lisa Grele Barrie: Managing Director
Lisa joined NC Theatre as Development Director in June 2003 and has led a dynamic philanthropic culture within the organization. She attributes her successful 25+ year marketing/development career to an impassioned and productive focus on creativity, communication and collaboration. Lisa graduated from Bucknell University and got her professional start in the Boston advertising agency world. She went on to work as a sales rep for The New Yorker, as a marketing specialist at Talbots, as the principal of her own marketing communications consulting firm and as the Development & Communications Director for Gilda's Club Metro Detroit. She feels grateful to have found her true calling at NC Theatre and takes great pride in engaging the board, staff and the greater Raleigh community in activities that advance the Theatre’s mission and vision. She enjoys spending time with her family in their home in Oakwood, everything arts-related (especially musical theatre), gardening, reading, tennis and doting on her three cats. Her secret desire is to be on stage - shhhhh!

Carolee Baxter: Production Manager
Carolee joined NCT seven years ago, just in time for the first Kids on Broadway production, Godspell. She was hooked! In her current position she is involved with many aspects of theatre production and management which she says is as close to heaven on earth as you can get. She owes her love of musical theatre to her mom, Jacquie, and her sister, Candy, with whom she spent many hours singing show tunes. She holds an MS degree in communications from Florida State University and spent a glorius semester in London studying theatre. After years being employed in advertising and marketing, Carolee thanks the NCT Curtain Callers for being the path back to her dream job. Outside of NCT, Carolee is on the board of B3 Systems, Inc., cheers on the ECU Pirates (thanks for choosing them Stefanie!) and listens to her favorite band, The Obtruders. Special thanks to NCT's development team for keeping non-profit theatre alive and to all the performers who put their hearts on the line at every audition.

Tricia McCoy: Business Manager
Tricia has been the Business Manager with NCT since January 2005. Prior to coming to NCT, she worked for Jupiter Entertainment, Inc., a television production company, in Knoxville, TN. While at Jupiter Entertainment, she served as the director of finance and was there for 7 years. At the theatre, Tricia is responsible for maintaining all financial records and preparing financial reports and budgets for the Board of Directors. She also prepares payroll tax returns for all NCT employees, reconciles daily box office receipts and maintains liability and health insurance for the theatre. In her spare time, Tricia likes to read, spend time with family and friends and take walks on the beach.

Donna Mullins: Box Office/Subscription Manager
Donna has a BS degree in communications from Wingate University with a double emphasis in speech communications and public relations. She joined NCT in 1994 and has held a myriad of positions. She loves working with the season ticket holders and her NCT family. In her spare time, she enjoys being with family, friends, and being involved at her church.

Emily Bruce: Annual Fund Manager
Emily joined NC Theatre in 2005 after completing her Masters of Public Administration at UNC-Chapel Hill where she concentrated her studies in nonprofit management. While at UNC she worked for the Institute of Government Foundation and interned in the Grants Office at the North Carolina Arts Council. Prior to that, Emily was Associate Director of Development at the Children’s Museum of Richmond in Virginia where she managed the annual fund, worked on capital and endowment fundraising and served on the museum’s management team. Emily thoroughly enjoys interacting with the spunky, generous and always entertaining individuals that support the theatre through the Annual Fund. She also embraces her theatre roles as grant writer, program development cheerleader and government relations advisor. Her favorite (and most challenging) role is mother to her “perfect” toddler, Virginia, who never throws temper tantrums or refuses to eat the homemade, organic, vegetarian dishes she lovingly prepares for her. She thanks her supportive husband, Tres, for allowing her to listen to musical theatre more often than Iron Maiden these days.

Kristin Buie: Communications Manager
Kristin joined the theatre family in May 2007 after graduating from North Carolina State University. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in communication with a concentration in public relations. While in school, she was involved in many organizations such as Lambda Pi Eta Communications Honor Society, the Public Relations Student Society of America (PRSSA), Alpha Delta Pi and Students Today Alumni Tomorrow (STAT). She came to NCT following a public relations and marketing internship with MMI Associates, Inc. in Raleigh. At the theatre, Kristin maintains all media relationships and serves as liaison with show stars. In her free time, Kristin enjoys being outside, reading, cooking and being with her family and friends.

Staci Thornton: Company Manager
Staci, a graduate of North Carolina State University, is thrilled to be beginning her theatre career with NCT.  She started out at University Theatre working with costumes on three productions.  Before becoming company manager, Staci has had a varied history with the North Carolina Theatre from interning with costumes, working as munchkin wrangler on “The Wizard of Oz,” to Conservatory Administrator.  Staci played a large role in the coordination and execution of the first annual Capital Awards; a program designed to recognize outstanding high school musical theatre excellence.  Staci is looking forward to many more productions with these great people at The North Carolina Theatre.

Alice Beck: Office Manager
Alice is originally from the Triangle area, having grown up in Apex. Alice worked at the Alltel Pavilion box office prior to coming to NCT. Alice worked for NCT three months before going back to Alltel. However, when Alice got the opportunity to come back to NCT full time as box office assistant manager in January 2005, she just couldn't resist. She has recently taken on some new responsibilities at NCT as the office manager but will continue to assist the box office with taking and pulling ticket orders.
