Seeking to cast men and women ages 16+ of all ethnicities
for the following principal and ensemble parts.
(Director's note: This version of Cinderella is ideally suited for non traditional casting in ethnicity and gender.)
Cinderella: Actress in this role should be able to play late teens. Any ethnicity. Character is young, beautiful, innocent yet sexy, vulnerable yet independent and strong. Loves animals and misses her mother very much, falls in love with a handsome prince. Soprano with a strong belt/mix.
Fairy Godmother: 40 and up; any ethnicity/any type, as long as she has a presence. Seeking a very interesting, quirky, eccentric actress who can play the humor of this character. She does sing.
Christopher (The Prince): 18 – early 20s, any ethnicity. Young, handsome, strong-willed and sexy. Falls in love with Cinderella. High baritone.
Joy: Mid 20s - mid 30s, any ethnicity. Cinderella’s stepsister. Possibly tall and skinny or extremely petite. Vain and extravagant. Extremely clumsy and awkward. Whiny and complaining; loves to bark orders at Cinderella. Seeking a gifted comedienne who can sing and move well. Character voice; belts to “C”.
Grace: Mid 20s - mid 30s, any ethnicity. Cinderella’s other stepsister. Possibly pudgy or overweight. Vain and extravagant. Extremely clumsy and awkward. Whiny and complaining; loves to bark orders at Cinderella. Seeking a gifted comedienne who can sing and move well. Character voice; belts to “C”.
Stepmother: Character is 40s - 60s, any ethnicity. Female AND male actors will be considered. Cinderella’s stepmother. Cruel, harsh and unforgiving, has become too accustomed to a certain lifestyle and refuses to give it up; a desperate ogre. Seeking a gifted comedienne and actress. Very little singing, but those auditioning should prepare a character-voice song.
King: 40s - 60s, any ethnicity. Christopher’s father. Loving dad who is eager to keep the peace… and also to marry off his son. Sweet, lovable, but in command. Seeking an actor who sings well.
Queen: 40s - 60s, any ethnicity. Christopher’s mother. Desperate to marry off her son. Good, caring parent who loves her family but is used to having her way. Seeking an actress who sings well.
Lionel: Mid 20s - 40s, any ethnicity. Steward to the Prince. Comic character. Spends his day trying to keep Christopher out of trouble. Frazzled and worn out. Seeking an actor who is a strong physical comedian and sings well (true tenor).
Ensemble: Strong singers who move and act, all ethnicities. Characters are guests at the ball and villagers. Puppetry experience a plus for the men, circus skills a plus for men and women.

Saturday, 4/3 and Sunday, 4/4: Exact hrs TBD Total time 7 hrs per day

Tuesday, 4/6: 6:30pm – 12:00am
Wednesday, 4/7 and Thursday, 4/8: noon to midnight. Dinner from 5:00pm – 7:00pm.
Friday, 4/9: noon to 5:00pm; 6:00pm – 10:30pm student preview performance.
Saturday, 4/10: Opening night. Show closes Sunday, 4/18. Dark Monday: 4/12.
