6 Conservatory Students and 3 Alums Featured in Disney's BEAUTY AND THE BEAST

In honor of our upcoming production of Disney's Beauty and the Beast, we wanted to highlight our local talent and students from the North Carolina Theatre Conservatory. All of these featured cast members have been or are currently a part of the NC Theatre Conservatory. It is very exciting to see students take the skills and training that they have gained from their time at the Conservatory and perform in one of our main stage productions! Meet our Conservatory students.






ETHAN BAKER (Ensemble) Ethan is thrilled to be making his NC Theatre debut! A recent graduate of Holly Springs High School, Ethan plans to attend Millikin University in the fall to pursue Musical Theatre. Ethan is an alumnus of the NC Theatre Conservatory, where he was a member of their Elite Live on Stage and Elite Dance companies. 

ANNA VIRGINIA CONGER (Ensemble) Anna is a rising senior at Millbrook High School and is so excited to be back on the NC Theatre stage! She has been a student at the NC Theatre Conservatory for seven years. NC Theatre Conservatory credits include: Oklahoma!, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and Crazy for You.
JOSEPH GAITENS (Ensemble/Young Prince) Joseph is thrilled to be back on the mainstage! NC Theatre: Grease (Ensemble), Disney’s The Little Mermaid (Flounder), Les Misérables (Ensemble, Gavroche u/s), Oliver (Fagin’s Gang, Dodger u/s). NC Theatre Conservatory: Oklahoma! (Will Parker), Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Benjamin), Crazy for You (Sam), and Jesus Christ Superstar (Apostle). 
JOSHUA KEEN (Ensemble/Pepper/ Wolf) Joshua is a graduate of Triton High School and has trained at the NC Theatre Conservatory for eight years. Next year, Josh will attend Syracuse University for a BFA in Musical Theatre. NC Theatre Productions: Evita, Oliver!, The Little Mermaid, Grease, and Spamalot. Favorite NC Theatre Conservatory shows include Crazy For You (Bobby Child) and Oklahoma! (Asst. Director/Choreographer). 
REBECCA LAYKO (Ensemble) Becky is ecstatic to return to the NC Theatre main stage after her debut in Oliver!. Regional credits include: Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Narrator), Crazy For You, Jesus Christ Superstar, In the Heights (NCTheatre Conservatory), The Wolf, and Carousel: In Concert (Theatre Raleigh). She is proud to be pursuing a BFA at Shenandoah Conservatory in the fall. 
GABRIELLE PHILLIPS (Ensemble/Enchantress) Gabrielle is thrilled to be performing in her first NC Theatre main stage production. Some of her favorite roles have included Millie in Thoroughly Modern Millie and Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz. In the fall, Gabby will be attending the University of North Carolina School of the Arts to pursue a BFA in Acting.

DANIEL MARHELKO (Ensemble/Wolf) Daniel’s credits include: A Chorus Line (Mark/Dance Captain), Mack and Mabel, Carousel, and Legally Blonde at CMM. Mary Poppins, Sound of Music, and Peter Pan at NC Theatre. Spring Awakening (Otto) and Oklahoma! (Slim) at Woodstock Playhouse. Tommy (Tommy) and All Shook Up (Dean) at NC Theatre Conservatory. A Chorus Line (Don) and Damn Yankees at CPCC. Training from CCM Musical Theatre 2018.

LYDIA TART (Ensemble) Lydia is thrilled to be back on NC Theatre’s main stage! Favorite credits include: Mary Poppins (Katie Nanna/Ensemble), Legally Blonde, and Les Misérables at NC Theatre, Parade (Essie) at Theatre Raleigh, Rent (Mimi) at East Carolina University. Upcoming: Performer for Oceania Cruises, aboard the Marina starting in September. BFA from East Carolina University.

COLLIN YATES (Ensemble/Cheese Grater) Collin is happy to be back at NC Theatre in this production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast. He had the pleasure of being in NC Theatre’s productions of Mary Poppins (Ensemble/ Valentine), Buddy, The Buddy Holly Story (Ensemble/Interviewer), Les Misérables (Ensemble/Student). Other roles include Thomas Jefferson in 1776, Max in Lend Me a Tenor, both at East Carolina University’s Leussine Playhouse. Later this year he can be seen in ECU’s production of Sense and Sensibility as Edward. 
Disney's Beauty and the Beast runs July 25th-30th, 2017 in Downtown Raleigh at the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts.
