Brief info
Juliana Valente, originally from Houston, Texas, is an actor-singer-director, teacher, and producer. Outside of theatre, she coaches and creates educational content for acting, voice, music theory, dramaturgy, and text analysis in Durham and NYC. Juliana has a BA in Speech Communications: Theatre and an MA in Performance: Music from Pensacola Christian College and has completed post-graduate work at Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, Julliard, and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA). During the pandemic, she became a full-time international video content creator. Juliana adapted technology and signature presentation style through the pandemic to immersively engage online with students and audiences worldwide. She was a speaker at last year’s Southeastern Theatre Conference (SETC) and contributed to their Self-Tape course for emerging professionals; she was the lead performance faculty and curriculum designer for The International Women’s Theatre Festival Fringe Lab. She has been a concert performer and speaker in 45 US states and seven countries, including at the Houston Classical Symposium, Symphony Space, DUMBO Arts Center, Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, Grand Tetons Music Festival, Opera Fresca, Festa Lyrica Italiana, and Salzburger Festspiele. Her voice and acting students have continued to study music and theatre at MSU, MS State, UNC, ECU, Baylor, Pace, Marymount Manhattan, and Julliard; they have performed at UCB, Papermill Playhouse, and off-Broadway…some of her students are featured in Steven Spielberg’s WEST SIDE STORY, where Juliana coached off-set and in-studio. Juliana’s recent acting work includes MACBETH (Lady Macbeth) @RADA, 1776 (John Adams) touring, CITY OF ANGELS (Alaura/Carla) and MASTER CLASS (Sharon) @Theatre Raleigh, A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM (Helena/Snug) @Theatre Raleigh Education, VENUS IN FUR (Vanda) @UCPAC, and the OLYMPIA Art Performance Installation (Emcee) @Tribeca Film Center. She is a proud member of Actors’ Equity.
