Acting Teaching Artist
Brief info

At the heart of Aaron's journey in the arts lies a genuine passion for storytelling, expression, and connection. Over the span of 15 years, this dedication has been evident in multiple avenues, from performances in North Carolina and beyond to roles in design, choreography, and direction. Beginning as an actor, singer, and dancer, Aaron quickly grasped the power of theatre to reflect the world's vast array of human identities. This focus extends off-stage as well, with roles in choreography, design, and the budding realm of direction, underscoring a comprehensive engagement with the theatre world.
Teaching has been another way for Aaron to give back. They've nurtured young minds from elementary to high schools, covering a wide spectrum, from the intricacies of stagecraft and the dynamism of musical theatre to the foundational subjects of English and Visual Arts. Beyond theatre, Aaron's ambitious spirit shines as a freelance marketing consultant and graphic artist. They've also dedicated significant time to diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives, actively mentoring, consulting, and advocating in both corporate and educational spheres. This dedication arises from a personal commitment to anti-racist and anti-oppressive practices, ensuring that the arts remain an accessible and genuine reflection of all facets of the human experience.
Influenced heavily by the intersection of theatre with sociocultural contexts, Aaron delves deep into the nuances of identity theories, continuously seeking more authentic representation in the arts. Their overarching mission is to be an instrument of genuine representation, while also encouraging everyone to freely explore the spaces within and around them. Through every role, teaching assignment, and advocacy effort, Aaron is driven by an unyielding desire to inspire and be inspired, striving for a more just, joyful, and liberated world of arts.
