Brief info

Matthew Hager is an actor, composer, teaching artist, and theatre company owner based out of Raleigh, NC. Matthew has been teaching with NCT since 2014, but first started at the Conservatory as a STAS summer camper in 2002. He is a graduate of UNC School of the Arts (high school - drama) and UNC Chapel Hill (BA Dramatic Arts). He has also received training from DePaul University, Shakespeare & Co., and Michael Howard Studios. Local companies for whom Matthew has performed include North Carolina Theatre, NC Symphony, Honest Pint, Bulldog Ensemble Theater, Justice Theater Project, Manbites Dog Theater, Deep Dish Theater, Theatre in the Park, Town of Cary/Koka Booth, and Burning Coal Theatre Company. Matthew is a company member of Burning Coal and a longtime actor and instructor in the company's Shakescenes troupe. In 2017, Matthew founded Aggregate Theatre Company in order to develop a stronger theatregoing audience in the Triangle. Matthew has composed or written original work for Aggregate Theatre Company, Justice Theatre Project, Seed Art Share, and NCT Conservatory. He is currently writing the musical "Away Home" with playwright Tamara Kissane for Honest Pint Theatre Company.
